Shipping & Returns Policy

A. Shipping

Shipping Lead Times
Normally, all orders are shipped within 1 – 2 business days. These lead times could vary based on world events and catastrophes (COVID-19, etc.) as these lead times could increase. 
As soon as your order is shipped, our website will send you a tracking number to the e-mail address on file with the order. 
We cannot ship to a PO Box. You must enter a physical address for shipping.
 
Chemicals: Additional Shipping & Delivery Charges
Hazardous Materials (Hazmat): Some chemicals are classified as “Hazardous Materials”. (Hazmat) which require special shipping by our common carrier FedEx. By law, hazmat fees will be added to your order for all hazardous chemicals and related laboratory products. Hazmat fees from FedEx are $35.00. Hazmat chemicals and related laboratory products can only be shipped via Ground and not Air (2nd day, Overnight, etc.). Ethanol is a hazardous material.
 
Shipping Areas
Stalo Chemicals GmbH ships and transports chemicals, laboratory supplies and ethanol to all 50 states in the USA. We also ship internationally. Ethanol is a hazardous material.
 
Poison Packs
Some chemicals require poison pack designation. By law, poison pack chemicals require special packaging before they are shipped by our common carrier. Poison pack fees are $20.00. Poison pack chemicals can only be shipped via Ground and not Air (2nd day, Overnight, etc.).
 
Freight Shipping Charges
Some products require Freight delivery for shipping. If your order requires freight shipping, we will charge you the actual freight charges. Chemicals are typically shipped and transported in the U.S. by UPS, FedEx, LTL and FTL (TL). 

B. Returns

Some products are not returnable. Please see section below labeled “Products not authorized for return include” for a list of products that are not returnable.

Return orders MUST be authorized by Stalo Chemicals GmbH. Please contact Customer Service for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. RMA numbers are effective for 30 days from the date of issuance. Please label any broken product submitted for repair or analysis as such.
 
Any used item must have a decontamination certificate completed and faxed to Customer Service before an RMA will be issued. RSI recognizes that product sold to its customers may have been subjected or exposed to biohazardous material, radioisotopes, carcinogenic, mutagenic or other potentially hazardous substance or material.
 
Therefore, it is imperative that you meet the following conditions to ensure the safety of RSI employees and non-employee incidental contact during shipping and handling. Autoclave, disinfect and clean all labware and equipment to minimize biohazards, radioactivity or other potential chemical hazards. Wipe down all items with alcohol, diluted bleach or a commercial disinfectant. Duly note prior exposure to any biohazard, radioactive or chemical hazard so that RSI can apply the appropriate handling measures. Your safety officer must supply a decontamination certificate stating compliance with these measures.
 
We cannot assume responsibility for patent infringements on items made to customer specifications. This publication shall neither be construed as recommending the infringement of any patent, nor extending any license, expressed or implied, nor assuming any liability under any issued or pending patent.
 

Product Return Policy
(a) All returns must be authorized by RSI in order to insure proper credit. Where credits will be issued to the Customer for authorized returns under $100, the Customer is not required to return the product to RSI. To ensure proper credit, each Product return must include the following information:

  • Customer Name and Address
  • Purchase Order Number
  • RSI Shipping Order Number
  • Date of Invoice
  • Catalog Number of Returned Item(s)
  • RSI Return Authorization Number
  • Reason for Return

(b) Products not authorized for return include:

  • Chemicals, diagnostics or any controlled products 
  • Refrigerated products or other perishables
  • Products with an expired shelf life or an expiration date too short for resale
  • Products purchased on a Special Order Basis
  • Products not in completely resealable condition (including all packaging)
  • Discontinued products
  • Products not purchased from RSI

We want every customer to be happy with their experience at RSI.

Customer Order Delivery Issue (RTS or Undeliverable)
If you reject your order (Returned to Sender) or if it is undeliverable for some reason and the order arrives back to our facility intact and is resalable, we will deduct the following from your refund:

– Shipping Fees and Charges. Shipping fees are not refundable. In addition, you will be charged a return shipping fee (plus Hazmat fee if applicable) equal to the fee charged on your original order. Example: If your order had an original shipping charge of $14 then you will be charged a $14 fee for the return shipping. Example: $14 x 2 = $28.00

– Restocking Fee. 20% restocking fee on product.

Returns for Non-Chemical Products and Lab Supplies 
If the product is able to be returned (Please see section above called “Products not authorized for return include”), there will be a 20% restocking fee and we will issue a product refund. We do not refund your original shipping or return shipping charges.  

Defective Product
If an item is defective, you must notify us within 30 days of placing your order. Also, you must e-mail [email protected] with a full description and pictures of the defective product to warrant the claim. If an item is defective, we will issue a product refund. We do not refund your original shipping or return shipping charges.
